The challenge
The client came to us with a new AI companion app and an early-stage problem: users were arriving but not converting, and paid conversion was effectively zero. Early apps live or die on how quickly they can turn a rough launch into a working funnel. The job was to find the leaks and seal them fast.
What we did
We focused on the two things that decide an early app’s fate: the user journey and the monetization flow.
We rebuilt onboarding into a frictionless flow so far more users made it through instead of dropping off partway, which alone pushed more people to the paywall. We reworked the offer with clearer messaging, sharper value communication, and a simpler payment step so that users who reached it actually converted. And we used the onboarding moment to invite reviews at the right time, building early social proof that compounds. All of this in the first weeks of the partnership.
The result
The early results moved fast. Onboarding completion jumped from 70% to 95%, a quarter more users reached the paywall, and conversion to paid went from 0% to 4%, a monetization flow built from nothing.
These are early wins, and they are already compounding. The point of the first month is to prove the funnel can work, then scale what works. We proved it, and we are building on it.
