The challenge
Most app studios build consumer apps. Lumoglo is a professional tool, and a far harder brief. The client, a device maker, needed a workflow app that estheticians would use during real client sessions: capturing before and after photos, running AI skin visualization, managing intake and consent, generating a session summary, and exporting it, all while handling sensitive client data responsibly. On top of that, it had to connect to their physical hardware device over Bluetooth, and tie into their e-commerce and subscription system. Consumer polish was not enough. This needed the discipline of professional software.
What we did
We built Lumoglo end to end, across a set of problems most app projects never touch.
We built the full esthetician workflow: client management, intake and consent forms, AI-powered before-and-after skin visualization, session summaries, and PDF export. We integrated the app with the client’s physical hardware over Bluetooth, so the app and the device work as one system, a capability that sits well outside standard app development. Because the app handles sensitive client photos and skin data, we built it on a security-first architecture with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and audit logging, designed to meet the standards a health-adjacent product is held to. And we connected it to the client’s commerce stack, with subscriptions, a credit-based usage model, and a free-trial flow. We shipped it on both iOS and Android, and stayed on as the product’s ongoing development partner.
The result
Lumoglo launched on the App Store and Google Play as a complete professional platform: AI skin visualization, connected-hardware integration, secure client records, and a working subscription business, in one app.
